Made to order - Bespoke Shamanic Drums

I really didn't feel that the drums out there spoke to me, and so never felt to create them, until now.

So what changed? I guess I did. Having focussed on making flutes for a few years and developing an understanding within my work. I learned the art of allowing creativity in unison with nature, to flow through me. Only then I began to feel and see the drums that I was aligned with and wanted to create. 

Drums complete the main trio of my offerings, the tools I myself called upon when Shamanic practice was at the forefront of everything. A path that led me to creating drums, flutes and rattles.

I create two styles. My woodland handle drums and my spoke drums. I do not use unnatural dye to create colourful looking skins, it's just not my thing, but I do still work with some colours on the inside of frames. Like my bespoke flutes and rattles, everything that is worked with and that becomes part of the drum, has meaning and honours something the individual works with or resonates with and has requested. It is therefor, a co creation between us.

To me, the beater is as important and is specific to the drum, I pay as much attention and love here as I do with the drum itself.

My bespoke drums start from £425. Each drum is individual and priced based on size, materials and time, so things like size, type of animal (cost of hides differ significantly) and level of detail all come into play and are discussed in detail with yourself before the creative journey begins.

For my spoke drums, I also offer a 1-2-1 workshop as an option too, where I can guide you through the process of creating your own drum.
