Cotswold wedding photographer Robert Leons
is a professional wedding a photographer in the Cotswolds is such a privilege with its stunning backdrops and an endless list of beautiful venues. From Cheltenham and its Georgian architecture and array of parks including Pitville and the famous Pitville Pump Rooms, the Queens Hotel overlooking Cheltenham Town Hall in Montpellier, to name just a few.

The Cotswolds offers so many wedding venues in the form of Barns and Manor Houses. Bibury offers Cripps Barn, a stones throw from Arlington Row, probably one of the most photographed row of cottages in the Cotswolds and in fact England. Cripps Barn is set within the rolling hills of Gloucestershire and is famous not only for it own aesthetics but its rotisserie BBQ’s, go no further for the most amazing posh Barbie of a lifetime. The same can be said of its Sister barn, one of my favourite places to photograph a wedding is The Stone Barn in Upper Windrush. This one is quite unique in its rustic meets modern conversion, Gorgeous Rusty corrugated iron, Cotswold stone (of course) and extremely wide panoramic glass giving views across the farmland. There must be over ten thousand fairy lights on the ceiling, that has to be seen to be believed but it certainly will impress both you, and your guests ….

The venue itself is newly refurbished inside and is both intimate and charming. Just on the doorstep of Stow on the Wold and Mourton in Marsh, there is plenty for your guests to entertain themselves for the weekend and on route to those two villages you’ll also spot The Hyde Barn and The Manor House Hotel both offering outside wedding ceremony options as in addition.

So I have scraped the surface of what the Cotswolds has to offer. It is in my opinion one of Englands finest areas. I haven’t even mentioned Cirencester, Chipping Norton, Malmesbury and Nailsworth. All are worth day trips themselves.

Theres nothing better than a Cotswold wedding.

Moving on to places like Tetbury, a town blessed with Royalty in Prince Charles, residing on the High Grove Estate. This picturesque old market town is surrounded by venues such as The Great Thythe Barn, literally on its doorstep, along with Kingscote Barn and a unique little venue called the Matara Centre. The Matara Centre offer a more spiritual vibe and is certainly worth a look if your’e in search of something different, it is absolutely beautiful there. Not far from Tetbury is Westonbirt House. Look no further if impressive Manor House and gardens is your thing, this place is littered with features including an impressive fountain, an Italian Garden, which is mind blowing, it has its own little church on site and the ornate building itself is an impressive size, think Downton Abbey …… If a more modern interior floats your both, Calcot Manor is up there with the best of hotels in the area, successfully combining modern Country furnishings with luxury.

Eastington Park, Hills House, Hallgarth Manor, Stonehouse Court and The Old Lodge are just a few of the options surrounding Stroud snd Leckhampton.

Moving more North of Cheltenham towards Winchcome, we have The famous Sudley Castle, Rivalled only by Eastnor Castle near Leadbury. Both offer very different but equally impressive features to make a fairytale wedding. Broadway, Eversham, Stratford and the home of Charles Dickens, the Cotswold country side is littered with Dumbleton Hall and Upper Court, Redhouse Barn and more.

Another Gem is The Slaughters Manor House in Lower Slaughter. Its doesn’t get more picturesque that the Church and Hotel itself, standing side by side, a little stream running through the village and tiny Cotswold Bridges up by the Old Stone Mill. Simply idyllic.
