Introducing me
Hi I’m Rob, a wedding photographer in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. Photography is my passion, my hobby, my obsession and profession.
I was born in the North East of England and at the age of sixteen I joined the Army. Upon leaving the Army I decided to go travelling and having had a keen eye for art in my earlier years thought I would record my venture around the world with a new camera. Sure I had cameras when I was a small boy, and loved taking pictures, but who didn’t. On leaving the Army I certainly never thought I would ever be a wedding photographer in Gloucestershire but installed in me was the discipline and a desire to keep fit and healthy, professionalism and both the desire and passion to be the best.
It was during my travels I got hooked and obsessed with my cameras. Much to people’s annoyance I was a bit of a perfectionist, though in my defence you couldn’t just delete film in those days. So there I was in my early years, building experience as a travel and reportage photographer. On my return to the UK photography became an obsessive hobby for a few years, I joined camera clubs and night schools and started to photograph models, street scenes and urban landscapes. Having won many competitions both locally and nationally, I decided to go pro. I was ready to be a wedding photographer in Gloucestershire. I wanted to be different, to follow my heart and to shoot a style I loved, to have passion in my work is very important to me and so is standing out. I follow two genres in the main, Photojournalism is great for capturing the real essence and atmosphere of the wedding day, capturing moments otherwise lost between guests as the bridal party prepares in that exciting and apprehensive morning. This wasn’t quite enough for me though, I love arty and moody portraits of the bride and groom, getting creative with both natural and other light sources to create a lot of my now signature images. These two genres of photography combine to give a truly powerful representation and more importantly, the memories of the happiest day of your life. You can see samples here.

Of course I cater for group shots. I was married in June 2011 and understand the importance of these which is why I put every effort into producing them to the same very high standard as the rest of my work, including all the details of your day for the album too.
So how is my work different to any other wedding photography in Cheltenham or Gloucestershire? There are hundreds of buzz words out there in the wedding photography business. I guess I would say the bottom line is I am an artistic reportage and contemporary classic wedding photographer in Gloucestershire. You can keep up to date with all of my latest work here on my blog.
I consider myself truly privileged to be there and cannot think of a better career than to capture all of these wonderful moments for you to cherish forever.
I am also a highly commended member of the SWPP
